The mass winter swimming activities in Dalian began in the early 1970s. Over the past three decades, the number of people participating in winter swimming activities has increased from a few to tens of thousands. Dalian winter swimming club was established in 1988 and renamed Dalian Winter Swimming Committee in 1997; In May 2001, Dalian staff winter swimming association was established; In order to adapt to the reform and opening up of Dalian and the development of winter swimming, Dalian winter swimming association was officially established in January 2004. So far, Dalian Winter Swimming Association has 26 member units, including enterprises and institutions Winter Swimming Association units and winter swimming teams in major sea areas, with a total of more than 2000 members.


Over the years, the association has earnestly implemented the outline of the national fitness plan, gradually formed a variety of activities, and organized the majority of winter swimming lovers to carry out rich and colorful fitness activities. Such as the national winter swimming Day celebration, Dalian citizen swimming competition conference, Dalian Xingwan bridge ten thousand meters swimming activity, Dalian International Winter Swimming Festival, seven outdoor fitness activities, beach fun events competition and water team performance of thousands of people. It has effectively promoted the healthy development of mass winter swimming activities in our city.


In order to meet the needs of the growing winter swimming team, the association strengthened internal management, improved the organization of the association, established the competition and training department, scientific research department, activity department, development department and comprehensive department, improved the council system, the work responsibilities of various departments, the rules and regulations of grass-roots winter swimming teams and the association, and realized the standardized management of the work of the association.
